How to Become One

Becoming a tax accountant will require extensive education and pursuing a series of certifications one that education is complete.  The first step is a completing a bachelor’s degree program in accounting from an accredited university or degree program.  While some state’s will allow a number of years of work experience to substitute for a obtaining a college degree, in almost every instance an individual’s career prospects will be aided by completing a degree program.

Then you will be required to become licensed to practice as a CPA.  CPA’s are licensed by their state’s board of accountancy and the process may vary from state to state.
